Lions vs. 49ers NFC Championship Game: What to know, Betting Odds, How to Watch

On Sunday, the Detroit Lions will compete in their second-ever NFC Championship Game. The San Francisco 49ers, who are playing in their third consecutive conference final, will be their opponent.

Lions vs. 49ers NFC Championship Game

One of the best seasons in the team’s history was followed by the Lions’ postseason run. Detroit became the second team in NFL history to have four players score at least ten touchdowns from scrimmage, tied a franchise mark with 12 wins, and took home the NFC North title for the first time since 1993.

During the regular season, running back David Montgomery scored 13 touchdowns, receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown scored 10, and NFL Rookie of the Year contenders Sam LaPorta and Jahmyr Gibbs scored 10.

Quarterback Jared Goff has led that formidable offense, recording a passer rating of more than 100 in every postseason game this year. During the regular season, he finished fourth in touchdown passes (30) and second in passing yards (4,575).

The 49ers offense has also produced impressive results, making San Francisco the fourth club in NFL history to have four players with 1,000 yards from scrimmage in a single season and a 4,000-yard passing in MVP candidate Brock Purdy.

Running back Christian McCaffrey tied for the league lead in scrimmage touchdowns (21) and led the NFL in running yards (1,459) and scrimmage yards (2,023). George Kittle, the tight end, and receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel all had over 1,000 yards.

With a passing rating of 113, Purdy topped the NFL.
